Flybe entered Administration today (March 5, 2020) with Alan Hudson, Joanne Robinson, Lucy Winterborne and Simon Edel of EY appointed as Joint Administrators.
All of the airline’s flights have been grounded and the UK business has ceased trading with immediate effect.
Customers are being advised that if they are due to fly with Flybe, they should not travel to the airport unless they have arranged an alternative flight with another airline.
And a statement on Flybe’s website noted that the airline is not able to arrange alternative flights for passengers.
For flights booked on Flybe services operated by its franchise partners — Eastern Airways and Blue Islands — these continue to operate as normal today (March 5) and passengers are requested to contact them directly.
Passengers who have a booking sold by another airline, that includes travel on a Flybe flight, will need to contact the relevant airline or travel agent to confirm if there is any impact to their travel plans.
Customers are also advised to monitor the Civil Aviation Authority website for further information at www.caa.co.uk/news .

Creditors and suppliers are also being asked to contact the Administrators at email@example.com.
Commenting on the shutdown, Joint Administrator, Alan Hudson said: “Despite an agreement with the government to provide assistance to the company, added pressures on the travel industry in the last few weeks have further deepened the severity of its financial situation. Flybe had already been impacted by rising fuel costs, currency volatility and market uncertainty.
Hudson added: ““As well as carrying out our duty as Administrators, we are also supporting Flybe’s employees and customers at this incredibly difficult time.”
Flybe is an independent British-based airline headquartered in Exeter. It is the largest independent regional airline in Europe carrying around 8 million passengers a year between 81 airports across the UK and the rest of Europe, with over 210 routes across 15 countries. It employs approximately 2,400 staff across the UK.
