Radisson Hotel Group appointed Aly El-Bassuni to the newly created role of chief operating officer for the Americas. El-Bassuni, previously SVP, franchise operations, Americas, will drive operational strategies across the company’s franchised and managed hotels in the region and report to Ken Greene, Radisson’s president for the Americas.
El-Bassuni will continue to lead franchise operations, owner relations, retention services, guest experience and safety and security functions across all brands in the Americas. He and his teams are responsible for improving hotel performance and the guest experience by engaging key stakeholders with the company’s resources.
“Aly’s vast experience in the hospitality industry sets an ideal foundation for him to drive synergies and collaboration across both our franchised and managed operations,” Greene said in a statement. “In this new role, his team will help position our Americas portfolio for long-term success as they achieve the goals outlined in our five-year plan initiatives, while building meaningful relationships with our owners and partners.”
As of June 30, Radisson had 622 properties with 66,198 rooms open in the Americas. Worldwide, it had 1,179 properties with 181,185 rooms.
